Dear Parents,
This is going to be a very exciting year for your child at the Yokosuka Co-Op Preschool! What makes this school
so special for you as a parent is that the school is a Cooperative Preschool. This means that the school does
not make a profit. It is a private organization owned and operated by the parents paying tuition. You have a lot of
influence here, and we are looking forward to working with you throughout the year!
As a parent in a “co-op” preschool, you have the opportunity to make more of an impact on your child’s
educational experience than in many other settings. Whether you have lots of time to give or just a little, there is
a place for your talents. This year you could be a classroom parent and offer your input and suggestions at the
monthly board meetings, help with parties in your child’s classroom, chaperone field trips, organize or assist
with fundraisers. The key to the success of our Co-Op Preschool is parental interest and involvement. The
pride your child shows, when “Mommy” or “Daddy” participates, is amazing to see!

The Yokosuka Co-Op Preschool is a private, non-profit, non-discriminatory organization supported entirely by tuition, donations
and fundraising. In accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws, the Executive Board manages the Yokosuka Co-Op Preschool
under the jurisdiction of Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka. The Yokosuka Co-Op Preschool maintains a racially

| For SY 09-10, We are adjusting our cut off date for the age requirement from October 31st to September 1st. This date adjustment has been made to align Yokosuka Co-Op Preschool with DODEA's SY 09-10 age requirement. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Office at 243-4436 or 241-4436. |
