Mrs. Kim Tullos
Teacher Room B
I was born and raised in southern California; this is where I met my husband. He was already in the Navy and attached to a ship in Long Beach. My first job was a
Veterinary Technician; I was working at a great animal hospital when we met. But as Navy life world have it, we moved within a year of being married. The next
place to call home was in Jacksonville, Florida. This was a great duty station for us, mainly because our daughter was born while we were there! Once again the
Navy decided that California was where we needed to be, no argument from me. We spent almost 5 years at a small base near Malibu California, Point Mugu. This
is where my son was would be born. It was great to stay in one location for so long, almost unheard of in the Navy. We then traveled a bit south, to San Diego. This
is where my I found my true passion for teaching. I began my career as a special education assistant. This was both challenging and rewarding! I knew I wanted
to stay in the classroom forever! It took me 2 years to find he age I really loved to teach, preschool. We stayed in the San Diego area for 6 years, two commands
and two homes. Then it was our turn to travel over seas and here we are in Japan. It was not an easy move with two kids, two pets and our household goods,
yikes! But I must say it was well worth all the chaos that led up to getting here! We LOVE Japan!! I look forward to having a wonderful school year with the students
and families here at Yokosuka Co-op Preschool!
Mrs. Theresa Hollingsworth
Teacher Assistant- Room B
My name is Theresa Hollingsworth; returning staff as a Teacher Assistant. I was born and raised in the Philippines. I graduated from college with a Bachelor of
Science in Elementary Education. I was an elementary school teacher for 3 ½ years prior to our move to Yokosuka. This is the fourth year I have worked at the Co-
op Preschool first as a Teacher Aide and then as a Teacher Assistant. My husband Mike and I are blessed with a wonderful son, Michael, age 5. I am looking
forward to a wonderful year!
Mrs. Marilou Carpenter
Teacher’s Aide-Room B
My name is Marilou Carpenter. I was born and raised in the Philippines. My family and I arrived in Yokosuka in November 2004. This is our fourth year in Japan
and we will be here for a total of five years. My husband and I have been married for ten years and we have one child. Our son Chris is an energetic nine year old
who is in 4th grade at Sullivans. My family and I have traveled quite a bit. We have been stationed in Bahrain, Korea, Great Lakes, and now Japan. I have worked
as a Pharmacist assistant, as well as on a guest relations team at a major hotel chain in Bahrain. Upon our transfer to Korea, I received employment as a teacher’
s Assistant. This was one of my most enjoyable positions and for the two years I was involved with the program, I found my desire to work in the child educational
field. I am pleased to now be employed at the Yokosuka Co-op Preschool and have truly enjoyed my time with the preschool. I look forward to another great year!
